I had a few spare hours on a lazy Saturday afternoon, so I put together a small collection of my favorite classic album covers rebuilt entirely in CSS3. This means no images and no non-web-safe fonts.
I started with the Pink Floyd cover because I thought the triangular gradient in the center would present a suitable challenge. The irregular pink banner behind the cut-and-paste text in the Sex Pistols cover is about ten separate blocks set at various angles. For the condensed font in the New Order cover, I used letter-spacing to simulate the look as closely as possible without cheating.
